This notice explains, in accordance with Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (“KVKK”), how we process the personal data you share with us through our website and contact channels.

2. Personal Data We Process
- Identity: first name, last name
- Contact: e-mail address, phone number, country
- Request details: the messages and preferences you send us (e.g. the yacht you are interested in, details of a yacht to be valued, charter dates, region, number of guests, budget), your reviews
- Security: IP address, time of submission, browser information and technical logs
3. Purposes
- Receiving, assessing and answering your enquiries about yacht sales, valuation, yacht search, charter, yacht management and maintenance/refit
- Contacting you and sending offers and information
- Sending listing brochures (PDF) at your request
- Collecting client reviews and, with your permission, publishing them
- Information security and preventing abuse (spam etc.)
- Complying with legal obligations and requests from competent authorities
4. Collection Method and Legal Grounds
We collect your data through the forms on our website, by e-mail, phone and WhatsApp, and automatically while you use the website (logs, cookies – see the Cookie Policy). Under Article 5(2) KVKK we rely on
- the processing being directly related to the conclusion or performance of a contract (discussions and offers relating to your request),
- compliance with our legal obligations,
- our legitimate interests (information security, preventing abuse), provided that your fundamental rights and freedoms are not harmed;
any other processing and transfers abroad are based on the explicit consent you give under the Explicit Consent Statement.
5. Transfers
- To our website hosting and e-mail service providers (e.g. Google LLC – e-mail infrastructure), only as far as needed to provide the service. As their servers may be located outside Türkiye, this transfer takes place under Article 9 KVKK.
- If you contact us via WhatsApp, your messages are transmitted through the WhatsApp (Meta Platforms) infrastructure.
- Where necessary to fulfil your request, and only to that extent, to business partners involved in the transaction (e.g. the yacht owner or their representative, charter operators, marinas and technical service providers).
- To competent public authorities where required by law.
6. Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the retention and limitation periods set out in the applicable legislation; afterwards it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.
7. Your Rights under Article 11 KVKK
You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed and to request information about it; to learn the purpose of processing and whether it is used accordingly; to know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom it is transferred; to request correction of incomplete or inaccurate data; to request deletion or destruction under Article 7 KVKK; to request that third parties to whom the data was transferred be notified of such correction, deletion or destruction; to object to a result to your detriment arising from analysis exclusively by automated systems; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
8. How to Apply
You can send requests regarding your rights in writing to the address above or from your registered e-mail address to info@meltemyat.com. Requests are answered free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest.
